Preclinical Core Experiments with Package Pricing:
1. Typical Infrared Circadian Actigraphy Experiment: $1,220 (price for COBRAS Members)
This package provides infrared actigraphy for 12 mice x 21 days of monitoring (7 days 6am-6pm light:dark, 14 days constant conditions). It includes initial consultation, 1 hour/day of technician time, setup, sensor costs for 12 cages x 21 days, and standard data analysis. Data is analyzed using ClockLab software to assess multiple circadian parameters.
2. Typical Piezoelectric Sleep Monitoring Experiment: $851 (price for COBRAS Members)
This package provides 7 days of sleep monitoring for 8 mice using the SignalSolutions piezoelectric cage system in controlled-environment cabinets. It includes initial consultation, 1 hour/day of technician time, sensor costs x 7 days, setup, and advanced data analysis.
Many other experiment types are available, including altered light:dark cycles/”jetlag”, tissue harvest at circadian timepoints, and studies with various clock gene mutant mice. Sleep deprivation/fragmentation and sleep EEG studies can also be arranged through our collaborators.

Polysomnography Cost Details
The COBRAS Human Core currently provides polysomnography in the CTRU. Currently (FY25), CTRU costs (separately billed) are $300 for overnight space/nursing and $100 for equipment/supplies for investigator-initiated studies, for total $880 per attended polysomnogram.
Polysomnogram costs include scoring by a registered PSG technologist, basic reports, and export of data. Review and interpretation by a sleep medicine physician is not included.
Sample Basic Actigraphy Study for N=20 participants ($500 for COBRAS Members)
Actigraphy study set up and instruction ($200), 2 Actigraph watches x 10 weeks assuming 1-week recordings for each participant ($100), 1 docking/charging station x 10 weeks ($150). This assumes that the study team (not Core) will set up/download all actigraphs and perform own scoring/analysis.
Sample full-service actigraphy study for N=20 participants ($1500 for COBRAS Members)
Actigraphy study set up and instruction ($200), 2 Actigraph watches x 10 weeks assuming 1-week recordings for each participant ($100), Actigraphy technician setup/download x20 ($800), Actigraphy technician scoring and analysis x20 ($400). In this scenario, the Core will set up/download all actigraphs and perform own data scoring/analysis.
Salivary dim light melatonin measurement
Funnels to assist in collecting saliva by passive drool method are available at a bulk discounted rate through COBRAS. These funnels are custom-made to fit onto Salimetrics vials. One is required for each vial, and on average 5 are required for evening-bedtime hourly sampling per participant. Please contact the COBRAS Core for additional information on collection procedures, storage, and assay costs.
